Gentle descaling for all surfaces – WABOL

ISO Badge & Badge mit Gründungsjahr

Depending on the type of metal present in the system and the composition of the coating, a suitably adapted stone removal agent must be used. We supply optimally formulated combination products of acid and corrosion inhibitor, allowing you to begin the chemical remediation of your systems immediately..

WABOL – chlorine-free limescale remover with all-round inhibitors, suitable for all metallic materials.

The application procedure

Depending on the severity of the limescale buildup and the size of the system or container, a corresponding amount of a 5-15% WABOL solution is prepared and pumped into the system/container to be descaled.

The WABOL solution should enter at the lowest point and exit at the highest point of the system or vessel. In boilers, this is achieved by pumping the WABOL solution in through the cold water inlet pipe and allowing it to exit through the hot water outlet pipe. A BOY descaling pump is best suited for this task, as it allows the flow rate to be kept low..

The carbon dioxide gas produced during limescale dissolution often causes the WABOL solution to overflow. Therefore, the overflow must be collected at the point of contact using a hose connection in an open container, allowing the gases to escape. The WABOL solution is then pumped back into the system, ensuring the system being descaled remains full.
However, excessive flow velocity should be avoided to maximize the effectiveness of the descaling process. Pump slowly until the solution overflows, then allow it to work undisturbed, and top up the system only occasionally to maintain a full level. When gas production ceases, either the WABOL solution may be exhausted (inactive) or the limescale may have completely dissolved. Test the WABOL solution (gas production) by testing it with a piece of limestone or mortar.

If this is still the case after the specified contact time (see below) (solution active -> gas development), the descaling process is complete. The entire system is then emptied and thoroughly rinsed with plenty of water.
If the WABOL solution is no longer active, add more WABOL to the solution. In most cases, an exposure time of one to four hours (in cases of very heavy petrification) will be sufficient.

ATTENTION: Chemical cleaning with WABOL should be carried out at room temperature (max. 30°C); at higher temperatures, especially with stainless steel, the effect of the inhibitor decreases somewhat, and from a temperature of 50°C INHIBITOR-KFF should be added for support (for more details on application, see WABOL product data sheet).
