Non-toxic antifreeze agent based on propylene glycol with special corrosion inhibitors

ANTIFROST-PRO is an excellent heat transfer fluid for ventilation and air conditioning systems, solar systems, absorbers and heat pumps.

Water, the best and cheapest heat transfer medium, unfortunately freezes at 0°C and has a corrosive effect on many metals and alloys – a mixture of water and ANTIFROST-PRO lowers the operating temperature, raises the boiling point and at the same time prevents the corrosive attack on metallic systems.

What can ANTIFROST-PRO do?

  • A mixture of ANTIFROST-PRO with water can be used up to a container temperature of 120°C (film temperature up to 150°C) because the vapor pressure is lower than that of water alone. The service life of the liquid can be extended by overlaying it with an inert gas (e.g., nitrogen) if the operating temperature exceeds 65°C.

  • ANTIFROST-PRO water mixtures will not freeze down to a temperature of -50°C – meaning valves and pipes retain their functionality even after a system shutdown.

  • ANTIFROST-PRO contains special corrosion inhibitors that passivate the surface of metals and act as a buffer against acids with oxidizing properties. These inhibitors increase the service life of equipment, significantly reduce operating costs, increase safety, and improve operational readiness.

    Furthermore, ANTIFROST-PRO prevents the formation of deposits caused by hard water, as it contains a special chelating agent which allows the use of normal drinking water.

  • The base liquid of ANTIFROST-PRO is propylene glycol, which is non-toxic on its own – the LD50 value is 23 g/kg; skin contact is harmless, as propylene glycol is not absorbed in toxic quantities; only slight irritation is to be expected in case of eye contact.

    ANTIFROST-PRO is also readily biodegradable.

  • Piping; process heating; heat recovery; air or liquid preheating; indirect air/gas heating; solar heating; underfloor heating; snow and ice melting systems

  • ANTIFROST-PRO is compatible with the common elastomers EPDM, PE, PP and SBR (within the usual temperature range).

  • Heating, ventilation, air conditioning, fire hydrant, fire and sprinkler systems, groundwater and geothermal heating systems, cooling coil defrosting, humidity monitoring, conveyor belt roller defrosting

  • Process freezing, ice production, blow molding of plastic bottles, leak detection on oil tanks; snow and ice melting systems
